Hello Everyone! I hope you're having a great holiday season.

I painted these items that are related to Autumn ( at least from what i have searched on google) Never have I ever experience autumn season before but I do think Autumn is the season of the cozy! 

I had the most fun painting the scarf and the pinecone -in which I thought I might mess them up because of the details and all. I doubt myself in the beginning but look who finished it lol. self doubt is very toxic.

Watercolour Food Illustrations - Malaysian delights!

 I painted some of my favourite food while I was in Malaysia. Fun fact: I always have my nasi lemak with teh ais. It just feels complete that way.

Old fashioned brandy- never gets old.

This is my favourite piece to paint on especially the bottom glass refraction.

Blood orange Margarita - That's a bloody one indeed.

Excuse my spelling mistake on 'Margarita'. This salt crystals on the rim of the glass took me longer than I thought.

Classic Mojito - I got that lime rum classic thing that you like.

One of my favourite cocktails.

I can imagine myself sipping on a tall glass of Mojito while watching the sunset.

Healing stones : Paitning study

Hello! 

Painting stones can be challenging but eventually it turned out enjoyable than I expected. I have a bad habit to rush things out. So to paint stones it can force me to take my pace slow and steady.

The red Rhodochrosite took me longer as i was struggling to get the red's vibrancy.

Study sketches: Paint like Toucan do it!

Toucans are just too cute to not to paint. It's just very unusual to see birds with huge beaks which are lightweight. Here's some of my studies i painted on my sketchbook! 

Colour process is a little overwhelming with the use of payne's grey and ivory black. I was afraid if the colour can be too dark that it couldn't show any values in it.  ( never paint in a single value , it lacks of shape!) 

Mixing the blue and red values for the tail feathers is one of my experiment to make variety shades instead of just blacks. 

Anyway, there's always room for improvement! I'm happy enough to be able to play with colours which you can't really see from the reference. :)

Food painting exercises

Hello to whoever is reading this post!.
I want to thank to you guys for hanging around from my absence . You see, I've been avoiding social media just to put more focus on painting stuffs that I have not painted yet. 

 For now I have a few that I personally liked.

NOTE TO SELF: Always use references!

Although they weren't looking as what I expected them to be; instead of being so critical of myself  I'd be happy to know that I can be better next time. As an artist, I'd like to keep learning and never stay stagnant in one level.

February - My artworks/ sketches update

Hello! It is March already! 

I am looking forward for more projects this month. Just gotta hustlin

 February is pretty productive so far. Lots of doodling and study sketches.

 One of my valentines postcard print. I like how this turn out although I personally feel I can do better.

Another postcard print I created for Valentines day. I actually like how this turn out.

Doodled during the eve of CNY. Took me a good hour with constant distraction from my nephew :)

Reminder to self: always sketch out the spelling before diving in.

I actually filmed a video of me drawing this but unfortunately i filmed in a wrong format. Next time I'll film a better painting process for you guys '_' Sorry bout it.

Tropical - January 2016

Hello! How are you? 

Today is the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year. Nothing much happening in the house. So I thought of updating my blog to show you what have I done for the month of January.

Unfortunately, January wasn't that productive to me. With a lot of happenings in my family- both life and death. It really stirred my emotions that I cant create new ideas. I will try my best to keep hustling for the coming months.

 

I was inspired by the big green leaves and tropical plants from visiting the Ipoh town. I would love to have a bunch of monstera in my garden.

Just a random ink sketch of how I want it to be on my arm.  I always wanted to have a half sleeve tattoo on my arm for years and years now but i'm just afraid of needles. But! Most probably will get myself inked... I hope ?

September sketches.

  September is the starting of autumn. 

I had cravings for ice cream, I miss the matcha softo from my visit to Kyoto years ago. Painting it makes me much more hungrier.

 Another experimental paint for mint chocolate chip ice cream. I personally think it would be better. But I have tried..

Pink soft serve. Can you guess what flavour it is?  hint: cherry blossom.

Of styles and self discovery + old paintings!

      Some small paintings I did around May i think. I was trying to find my favourite way to paint flowers. There are so many ways to paint a flower but I always want to discover new ways to have better connection with what I am creating.


        Majority of my paintings are created through my process of experimentation and self discovery. I always loved the poetic way an individual tries to find ones connection in the creation of art, hence my various styles.
